Weekly Sport XPredict Roundup: Nashville Has the Points. Vancouver Has the Higher Price.

2026-10-23

Nashville had 12 more points than either Vancouver or Inter Miami in the October 18 standings. Four days later, that advantage wasn’t reflected in the order of XPredict’s leading contenders: Vancouver was first, Nashville second and Miami close behind.

Just 1.8 percentage points separated the three clubs.

Nashville Has the Points. Vancouver Has the Higher Price.

Nashville’s league record gave it plenty to be confident about. Vancouver had just pulled off a comeback in Austin, while Miami was putting together a winning run. With the playoffs approaching, all three had something going for them.

A narrow lead for Vancouver

The October 22 snapshot showed Vancouver at 18.8%, followed by Nashville at 17.4% and Inter Miami at 17.0%:

A Yes share pays $1 if the named club wins under the market’s rules and nothing if it doesn’t. Vancouver’s displayed price was equivalent to about 19 cents per share.

The prices show a closely matched leading group. To understand the football around that market, it helps to look beyond the points totals.

A comeback, a winning run and a secured top seed

Vancouver had to come from behind at Austin. Trailing at halftime, the Whitecaps equalized through Ryan Gauld before substitute Yadaly Diaby scored the winner in a 2–1 victory. The result left Vancouver four points clear at the top of the Western Conference with four matches remaining.

Miami, meanwhile, had won three straight, most recently beating Atlanta 3–1. Its immediate task was to hold off third-placed New England and protect second place in the East. A strong finish would help preserve a favorable starting position for the postseason.

Nashville already had one important piece of its playoff route settled. A 1–1 draw at San Jose secured the Eastern Conference’s No. 1 seed. Its regular-season work had earned a concrete advantage before the playoffs even began.

These results provide context for the contenders. They don’t establish why XPredict’s prices were separated by those exact margins.

The road to December 18

If Vancouver and Miami hold their positions, the opening assignments would differ. Nashville and Vancouver would face their conferences’ Wild Card winners; Miami would meet the East’s seventh seed.

Round One is a best-of-three series, with the higher seed hosting the first match and, if needed, the third. From the Conference Semifinals onward, one defeat ends the run. The regular season earns advantages, but it cannot remove that risk.

There’s another wrinkle in this three-team race: Nashville and Miami must come through the same Eastern Conference bracket. Only one can reach MLS Cup. Vancouver’s route runs through the West, so it could meet either of them in the final.

Final seedings will be settled when the regular season ends on November 7. The Wild Card round follows on November 18, with MLS Cup scheduled for December 18.

Every elimination settles another contract

On XPredict, a club’s contract resolves No as soon as it becomes mathematically impossible for that team to win MLS Cup. There’s no need to wait for the final. Sporting Kansas City had already been eliminated when the snapshot was taken, and its selection was closed.

Official information from Major League Soccer is the primary resolution source.

The market also includes an Other outcome. Under the published rules, it resolves to Other if the 2026 season is cancelled, postponed beyond December 31, 2026 ET, or has no declared winner by that deadline.
