Stablecoins are widely used for trading, transfers, and digital settlement. Using them for an everyday purchase, however, can still require several steps: selling the asset, converting it into local currency, moving funds to another payment account, and then paying through a separate network.
XT Pay is designed to shorten that process for supported transactions. Eligible users can scan a participating merchant’s local payment QR code and authorize payment using USDT held in their XT Spot account. The user reviews the order amount, exchange rate, and applicable fee before confirming. Then, a designated third-party payment provider processes the local QR payment and settles the corresponding fiat amount with the merchant.

Scan to Pay is the currently documented merchant-payment feature within XT Pay. It uses USDT from the user’s Spot account and connects supported transactions to selected local QR payment networks. Users do not need to manually sell USDT or transfer local fiat to a separate payment account before initiating the payment.
When a supported QR code is scanned, the system calculates the USDT required using the order amount and the exchange rate applicable at the time of payment. After the user reviews the details, confirms, and completes the required authentication, the corresponding USDT and payment fee are deducted from the Spot account. The designated payment provider then processes the local QR payment and settles with the merchant under the applicable local payment rules.
Availability depends on the provider, market, QR network, merchant, user eligibility, KYC status, transaction amount, and local regulation. A QR code being visible at a merchant does not necessarily mean it is supported by XT Pay.

Payment records can be reviewed in XT Pay under Recent Transactions. The corresponding USDT movement is also available through Assets > Spot > Transaction History > Distribution.
The current internal product guide lists the following 12 markets and local QR networks. Coverage should be reconfirmed immediately before publication because provider, merchant, and regulatory availability can change.

The current product guide states that XT charges a payment fee equal to 0.3% of the payment amount. The fee is deducted from the Spot account in addition to the USDT used for the purchase. Users should review the final amount and fee shown in the payment interface before confirming.
Transaction limits are calculated in US-dollar equivalent. Each supported market and QR network may have its own minimum and maximum per transaction. The current guide lists a default cumulative daily payment limit of 5,000 USD per user. When a local-currency amount is entered, the system calculates its USD equivalent using the rate applicable at the time of payment.
A transaction may fail if it is below the network minimum, above the per-transaction maximum, above the user’s remaining daily limit, or otherwise unsupported by the provider or merchant. Fees, limits, rates, and availability may change, so the payment interface should be treated as the final transaction-level source.
XT recommends setting up a Passkey through the Security Center before using XT Pay. Depending on the user’s setup, a Passkey can use a device password, biometric verification, a security key, or another authorized device.
A Passkey is not documented as mandatory for every Scan to Pay transaction. Users who have not configured one may be presented with Google Authenticator, email verification, or SMS verification. The method can depend on the account and transaction. Users should never disclose a complete verification code or approve an authentication request they did not initiate.

According to the current product documentation, the payment amount is returned to the Spot account when a payment fails. If only part of an order is refunded, only the refunded portion is returned. When an order refund is processed, the corresponding payment fee is also returned to the Spot account.
A refund should not be confused with a dispute over the merchant’s goods or services. XT is not the seller and does not guarantee merchant fulfillment. Users should keep the transaction record and follow the applicable merchant, provider, and XT support process for the specific issue.
Where supported, XT Pay can connect a USDT balance with familiar payment settings such as dining, shopping, retail, and everyday services. The merchant does not necessarily accept cryptocurrency directly; the user authorizes a USDT payment while the designated provider connects the transaction to the local QR network and settles with the merchant in local fiat.
Eligible users can open the XT App, select Scan or XT Pay, and review the availability, merchant details, quote, fee, and payment requirements displayed for their market before proceeding.
