This bull cycle has been no friend to altcoin traders, especially those who hung their hopes on an altcoin bull run as there were in the previous bull cycle. According to many altcoin price charts, bullish potential is high, further supported by strong pump indicators that have been in play since before thebull cycle began. However, the lack of liquidity flowing into the market has led to a highly underwhelming bull cycle.  

So far, the price of Bitcoin has gone on to hit a string of new ATH prices, setting an ATH in the $126,000 price range. Following this record in early October, the entire crypto market experienced a $20 billion liquidation event, wiping out all leverage and long trades, and even $3 billion worth of short trades. This 10/10 event is now remembered as the greatest single-day liquidation event in crypto history. 

Since then, the popular take on the immediate future of the crypto market was that the prices of crypto asset swould continue to decline and enter the bear market phase. This meant that the 4-year bull cycle had come to an end and that the price of BTC would sink to lower targets. Presently, bearish analysts believe the price of BTC will sink to $70,000 before reaching lower targets.   

Crypto Community Comes Together in Hope of Altseason in 2026

In contrast, bullish analyst beleive that the lack of liquidity has led to an extended cycle, meaning a 5-year supercycle will play out, allowing a correction to occur, before crypto prices shoot to new ATH targets and even usher in the long-awaited altseason. This is hopeful news for altcoin holders, especially. So far, only a handful of altcoins have gone on to set new ATH prices, and seeing more altcoins surging this year would be ideal.
