MetaMask has launched a new integration with Ondo Finance that expands access to tokenized U.S. financial markets. The update allows eligible users to access more than 200 tokenized stocks, ETFs, and commodities. Users can now manage crypto assets and tokenized real-world assets inside a single self-custodial wallet. The rollout targets non-U.S. markets and reflects growing demand for blockchain-based market access.

The integration connects MetaMask directly with Ondo Finance’s Global Markets platform. As a result, users can access tokenized equities without opening traditional brokerage accounts. The tokens track market prices but do not represent legal ownership of securities. This structure keeps settlement onchain while mirroring traditional market exposure.

MetaMask Adds Tokenized Stocks and ETFs to Its Wallet

MetaMask now supports tokenized traditional assets through its mobile application. Eligible users can access tokenized shares tied to companies like Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon. In addition, the platform supports tokenized ETFs such as QQQ, SLV, and IAU. These assets become available through Ondo’s Global Markets tokens.

Users purchase the tokens using USDC on the Ethereum mainnet. The tokens follow real-time market prices during trading hours. However, they do not provide shareholder or voting rights. Trading operates 24 hours a day, five days per week, following traditional market schedules.

This setup allows users to move assets across borders without custodial restrictions. At the same time, it preserves decentralized control and onchain settlement. The design closely mirrors brokerage access while avoiding centralized intermediaries. Consequently, MetaMask continues expanding beyond a crypto-only wallet.

MetaMask Swaps Provides Unified Trading Access

Users access tokenized assets directly through MetaMask Swaps. This feature removes the need for external trading platforms. Moreover, users manage crypto assets and tokenized securities within the same interface. The wallet design remains unchanged, which simplifies navigation.

Trading remains available from Sunday night through Friday evening. This schedule offers longer access than most traditional platforms. Even during market pauses, users can transfer tokens freely. Therefore, liquidity remains available across time zones.

Ondo Finance provides pricing aligned with traditional markets. The integration brings retail-style access into a self-custodial environment. As a result, decentralized wallets increasingly function as complete financial platforms. This shift reflects broader convergence between crypto and traditional finance.

Regulatory Limits Define Market Availability

The tokenized assets are unavailable in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Several regions in Europe, China, and Russia also face restrictions. The tokens are not registered as securities in the United States. These limitations define the scope of the current rollout.

Despite restrictions, demand for tokenized real-world assets continues growing. Global tokenized RWAs have surpassed $22 billion in total value. MetaMask’s move aligns with expanding infrastructure across blockchain networks. Ondo Finance also launched similar tokenized products on the BNB Chain in 2025.

The integration follows MetaMask’s recent additions of native Bitcoin support and cross-chain swaps. Meanwhile, Ondo’s ONDO token recorded a short-term price increase after the announcement. Market activity around the token also increased during the same period.
